Fundraisers put on running sho

SIX dedicated fundraisers will be putting their best feet forward this weekend as they embark on a half marathon to raise money for a children's charity.

Kerry Brooks, Chanel Charm Bracelet 24, of Darbeck Road, Scotter, has organised the event, which will take place tomorrow, to raise money for the NSPCC.

Mrs Brooks said: "I have got a three-year-old boy called Leo and it has made me think of children's charities, in particular the NSPCC.

"You hear in the news of cases of child abuse and that it really happens and I just wanted to do something to help.

"Children's safety is something which is obviously quite close to my heart."

Mrs Brooks will be joined by her partner abercrombie clothing Sean Smith, her father Nick Brooks and her brother Marc Brooks as well as two friends, Scott Mychajluk and Dane Blake.

Mrs Brooks said: "My dad has quite a good fitness level but the rest of us started training 10 weeks ago from no fitness level at all.

"We have gradually built it up one mile at a time."

The group has been training for 10 weeks solid for the 13.2-mile run, which will start at Darbeck Road, Scotter and go via Messingham, Kirton in Lindsey farmshop, Scotton, and Gainsborough Road before returning to Darbeck Road.
